PayPal is the preferred payment method for most eBay buyers and sellers, and lets you send payments securely online using a credit card or bank account. When you send a payment using PayPal, the recipient won't ever see your credit card or bank account information. Before you send a payment using PayPal:

  • You need to have a PayPal account. Sign up now.

  • Make sure the seller accepts PayPal as a payment method.

  • Make sure your PayPal email address is correct.

Paying for a single item with PayPal

Depending on whether or not the seller is using our Checkout system, the steps to complete payment are different. If your seller does not use eBay Checkout, he or she will send you an invoice or other payment instructions to help you complete your purchase.

To pay for an item when the seller uses eBay Checkout: セラーがeBayチェックアウトを使用する際に商品を支払うには：
  1. Link your PayPal and eBay accounts, if you haven't already done so.

  2. After you've won an item, click the Pay Now button. You can find this button on the item page, from My eBay, and in the confirmation email that you receive from us.

  3. Check your shipping address. If any information is incorrect, click the "Change shipping address" link to update it. (The seller may require a credit card billing address registered with PayPal, sometimes called a confirmed address.)

  4. Confirm the order details, including shipping, insurance, and taxes. Click the Continue button. (If you have questions about the total cost, click the "Request total from seller" link.)

  5. Select PayPal as the payment method.

  6. Enter your PayPal log in information. If you don't already have a PayPal account, you can sign up.

  7. Make sure that your shipping details, payment method, and order details are correct.

  8. Click the Confirm Your Payment button to complete your purchase. The amount of your purchase will be deducted from your PayPal account and transferred to the seller immediately.

If for some reason you are unable to pay from eBay by using the Pay Now button, or if you decide to pay for an item with PayPal after you complete checkout, you can pay for eBay items directly from PayPal. You will still be covered by PayPal Buyer Protection.

  2. Click the Send Money tab.

  3. Click the "Pay for eBay Items" link.

  4. Click the Pay button next to the item for which you would like to send a payment.

  5. If necessary, edit the details of your payment.

You can pay for multiple items with PayPal with one easy payment, as long as the sellers use eBay's Checkout system. You can combine payments to multiple sellers as long as:

  3. Click the Pay For All PayPal Items button on the bottom of the page. This option is only available if you purchased items from multiple sellers who offer PayPal as a payment method.

  4. Check your shipping address. If any information is incorrect, click the "Change shipping address" link to update it. (The seller may require a credit card billing address registered with PayPal, sometimes called a confirmed address.)
